UH's Marcus Sasser, Jamal Shead '100 percent' plan on playing vs. Auburn
Starting guards Jamal Shead and Marcus Sasser both vowed to play Saturday against Auburn despite injuries that have slowed them down.BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — University of Houston guards Marcus Sasser and Jamal Shead plan to play in Saturday’s NCAA Tournament game against Auburn after being hobbled by injuries in the tournament opener.
Sasser sat out the second half of the Cougars’ 63-52 win over Northern Kentucky after he aggravated his groin just before halftime. Shead played 36 minutes with a hyperextended right knee. “I’m playing , 100 percent,” Sasser said during Friday’s media session at Legacy Arena. “This is not a game-time decision. I’m going to play.”
