Harbour, which last year complained its profit had been wiped out by the windfall tax on oil and gas companies, revealed that its tax bill was lower now than it had been before the tax was introduced. Lower energy costs, which have benefited most other people and businesses, hit the bottom line at Harbour during the period.That dropped to 76 dollars in the first half of this year.The amount of oil and gas that Harbour produced also reduced slightly from 211,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day to 196,000.
Chief executive Linda Cook said: “We remain focused on maximising the value of our UK oil and gas portfolio, advancing our organic development projects and disciplined capital allocation.
