The truck driver charged with manslaughter after 39 Vietnamese people were found dead in the back of a refrigerated truck in October, pleaded guilty on Monday to two lesser charges.
Robinson is also charged with 39 counts of manslaughter, with conspiracy to commit human trafficking and with transferring criminal property. He did not have to answer any plea regarding those charges today. They will be dealt with at a later hearing on Dec. 13, the court also confirmed. Christopher Kennedy, also of Northern Ireland, was charged with conspiracy to arrange or facilitate the travel of people with a view to exploitation and conspiracy to facilitate the commission of a breach of U.K. immigration law, according to the Essex police.
