The UK is set to be battered by heavy rain today as we still look forward to just a little bit more sunnier skies.
As we progress into the day, heavy showers will persist in many parts which are expected to ease slightly by nighttime. However, there is still a risk of showers at this time in northern and western parts of the country.In its forecast for the north west today, the Met Office stated: "Early brightness in the north but skies soon clouding over with outbreaks of rain developing during the morning. Possibly brightening up in the south later with showers developing. Becoming quite humid.
