In a post on social media, Mr Zelensky described the perpetrators as "beasts" who were seeking to "destroy everything that simply allows to live".He did not say how many people were killed and injured in the attack.The city of Kupiansk and nearby settlements were seized by Russian troops in the first few days of Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, launched in February 2022.
