While the success of the Ukrainian military in the battle against the Russian army has shocked some observers, members of California's Air National Guard were not surprised.
FRESNO -- Russian President Vladimir Putin's plan to draft civilians to fight in Ukraine has sparked large scale protests and arrests.
"The 144th Fighter Wing is comprised of over 1,100 airmen from all over the West Coast, predominately from California", explained the commander.
