The whole point of a challenge is that it be achievable. Unsolvable puzzles and unwinnable games are of no interest to anyone. No one would watch a foot race in which the hurdles were set at 7 feet.

The 19th-century designers of the race called the Velká Pardubická came close to designing an impossible steeplechase, journalist Richard Askwith concludes in a book that is as much a story of the race itself as it is a biography of the only woman ever to have won it.
