Christopher Vivell will stay on as Man United's interim director of recruitment for the January transfer window.
There have been just three games this season and the conversation around Erik ten Hag and whether it was the right decision to keep him in the summer has already started.
The Grand Canyon-sized space in the midfield is still there and United are too easy to play through. Omar Berrada and Dan Ashworth provided Ten Hag with their backing in an interview before facing Liverpool but they recognised that results cannot continue to be poor this season.ALSO READ: Why a 35-year-old who last played for Doncaster has joined United
United will be back to nearly full strength and hopefully they can kick on and go on a winning streak, but if they don't, the conversation around Ten Hag will only grow louder. Vivell formed a key part of what club sources describe as a 'strengthened' recruitment team, alongside director of scouting Steve Brown and director of negotiations Matt Hargreaves.
Vivell has signed a contract until February and will remain in his role until then, with the possibility he then takes up the position on a permanent basis. The 37-year-old and Dan Ashworth will be consulted about a potential permanent contract and a decision will be made from there.
