The California public university system will no longer require applicants to submit SAT or ACT scores.
The University of California system on Thursday voted to phase out the use of SAT and ACT standardized test scores for admissions, a sweeping and fundamental change to the college admissions process at one of the largest public university systems in the country.... [+]to eliminate the SAT/ACT requirement for five years while it works to develop its own test, though if a test can’t be created by 2025, UC will waive the standardized testing requirement altogether.
The UC system includes some of the highest-ranked colleges in the U.S., including UC Berkeley and UCLA.
