Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive clip from the new Irish horror film Unwelcome, which arrives on digital March 14 — just in time for St. Patrick's Day. Directed by Jon Wright , as well as co-written by him and Mark Stay, Unwelcome follows a pair of Londoners who leave behind their home for rural Ireland, but soon hear about mysterious beings living in the ancient food outside their garden.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Unwelcome stars Hannah John-Kamen as Maya and Douglas Booth as Jaime. Their escape to Ireland is meant as a way to provide a safer life for their unborn child, but they are quickly faced with those who seem to want to do them harm. Unfortunately, Maya's supernatural attempts at protecting her young family may result in even more danger than before.
Though the Redcaps are not present in the scene above, Unwelcome is first and foremost a creature feature. Director Jon Wright and co-writer Mark Stay took inspiration from films such as Gremlins and Straw Dogs while building out their take on an unwanted presence, as well as the film's themes of violence and its consequences. Unwelcome, which is being distributed by Well Go Entertainment, also stars Chris Walley, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell, and Niamh Cusack.
