Have you ever heard of Robert Gilmour LeTourneau? Born in Richford, Vermont, he was a prolific inventor of earthmoving machinery and was widely considered as one of the finest inventors of all time. It was his specialty to develop enormous overland vehicles, and his land trains, which were well ahead of their time, can be called the pinnacle of his achievement.

In the mid to late 1950s and early 1960s, he and his company built some of the world's longest and largest vehicles to handle logistics without relying on local road or rail systems.
