The trio are accused of planning to kidnap five children
Three US fugitives accused of plotting a kidnap and murder have spent £180,000 of taxpayers’ cash trying to stay in Scotland.
Now the trio are waiting in Scottish jail cells to be sent back across the pond after their appeals were thrown out, reports the Daily Record.Records from the Scottish Legal Aid Board revealed the amount spent so far on lawyers. But the overall bill is expected to be much higher as the suspects may consider taking the case to the European Court of Human Rights. The Supreme Court refused to hear the trio’s appeal against extradition in December. Judges ruled they had not raised an arguable point of law.
