The team went from having only two wins last season to five this year, including a playoff berth.

PUBLISHED 1:47 PM CST Nov. 28, 2022UVALDE, Texas — When Uvalde’s football season ended in the first round of the playoffs, senior defensive back Justyn Rendon embraced his teammate Jarrett Hernandez.

“With football you get so invested and you get so locked in for years and then one night it’s over and you never get to do it again. I feel for you and I still dream about playing,” Miller said to his players. “Whatever the game was, win or lose, you still have to come out and we got to take their minds off of other stuff other than the tragedy,” Hernandez said.“I think he wore it amazing — perfect, actually. He was doing his job every time. Not even just on the field, off the field, he was always on us in the classroom, you saw him helping people out,” Hernandez said.“I appreciate everything you’ve done for the rest of your life. You are my children.
