NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio – Charlie Steinmetz scored three touchdowns, leading sixth-seeded North Ridgeville to a 35-14 victory over 11th-seeded Valley Forge in a first-round playoff game in Division II, Region 6 Friday night.
North Ridgeville will meet third-seeded Highland, which defeated 14th-seeded Midview, 49-7, on the road in the regional quarterfinals next Friday night. Valley Forge’s season ends at 4-7. The Rangers also defeated the Patriots, 41-6, back in Week 2. The two teams battled to a scoreless first quarter, and it remained scoreless until there was 2:44 remaining in the first half. Ranger quarterback Brendan Watchorn four Steinmetz in the corner of the end zone for a 12-yard touchdown pass. Austin DeShazo’s extra point made it 7-0, Rangers.
