Venom doesn't respect one Marvel hero.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning! This article contains spoilers for Venom #25 Being a villain-turned-antihero himself, Venom really shouldn’t be judging or criticizing any established hero in the Marvel Universe at all, let alone a member of perhaps the most prestigious team in Marvel Comics history, the Fantastic Four. However, in his latest adventure, Venom names the one Marvel hero even he doesn’t respect: Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch.
Eddie Brock became Venom after Spider-Man violently removed his mysterious black suit that subsequently infected Brock. Both the symbiote and Eddie hated Spider-Man at that time for their own reasons, so they were happy to work together to try and kill him. As time went on, however, Venom’s hatred for Spidey subsided, and the two eventually became great allies, and even close friends.
Venom Openly Mocks Human Torch’s Intelligence In Venom #25 , Venom needs a time machine in order to battle his new high-concept Sci-Fi villain called Meridius in a place that exists at the end of all things known as the Garden of Time. The issue opens with Eddie fighting Doctor Doom over Victor’s time platform, and as the two battle across the timeline, they eventually attract the attention of Kang the Conqueror, who actually considers Venom a friend.
Johnny Storm is an integral member of the Fantastic Four given his powers as the Human Torch, but it’s no secret that he isn’t exactly the smartest member of the team. To be fair, he’s competing mainly with the likes of Reed Richards, who might be the smartest man in the multiverse. Though according to Venom, Johnny is just comparatively dumb when considering Reed, he’s just generally not very intelligent.
Spider-Man & Human Torch Are Friends, Which Is Why Venom Hates Him Spider-Man and the Human Torch are famously friends, and have been long before the Venom symbiote was in the picture. Since Venom’s early life was spent despising Spider-Man and everything he stood for, it’s possible that he grew to hate the Human Torch simply because he was a close friend and ally of Spider-Man, and Venom simply never reconciled those feelings the way he did with Spider-Man himself.
