Vice President Kamala Harris to visit in Sunnyvale next week
Vice President Kamala Harris will be visiting Silicon Valley next week, stopping in Sunnyvale on Monday to deliver remarks on the implementation of the CHIPS and Science Act.
Harris’ will tout the administration’s investment in U.S. semiconductor research and development and manufacturing at Applied Materials, the company posted on social media. In December, Applied Materials announced it plans to build a next-generation research and development center in Sunnyvale. Harris, an Oakland native who served as U.S. senator from California and as the state’s attorney general, last visited the Bay Area in March for a fundraiser and a roundtable discussion with small-business owners.
