SUNDAY MAIL EXCLUSIVE: The woman said Downing used to boast about being pals with Nicola Sturgeon and showed off his selfies with her.
A young woman abused by former SNP equalities officer Cameron Downing, who boasted about his close friendship with Nicola Sturgeon, warned the party he was dangerous.
The woman said Downing was always pushing boundaries from a young age, which developed into serious abuse. “After that, I stopped talking to him but I saw him a couple times at a nightclub. On one of those occasions, he stuck his tongue down my throat, told me he was bisexual now and wanted to have sex with me.”
She had already reported his abusive behaviour to police and later learned he had been accused of a number of offences against both men and women over a five year period. “Cameron’s actions do not make him a suitable individual to represent anyone, especially a minority group that already faces enough criticism and hardship.”
“I was quite worried about the backlash it would have on them but now I think they should face backlash because I shouldn’t have had to see him standing next to Nicola Sturgeon or read their statements which say nothing.”
