Former prosecutor Watt was jailed for 10 years for sexually abusing four young children
A victim of sex attack lawyer John Watt QC has spoken out for the first time to slam legal pals who failed to report him to the police.
He said: “It’s diabolical. It sounds like they’ve hidden it rather than taking it to the police or whatever. That is appalling. There’s no excuse for that.” Mark says: “He raped me when I was in his care, being looked after by him. I remember it happening. I remember his words.” He goes on to say that he agonised over the incident for many years.
Watt was one of many friends, most now deceased, he allowed to abuse her. Susie’s story suggests there was a paedophile ring at the heart of the legal establishment in the 70s and 80s. Top news stories today Susie’s desire for justice started the investigation in 2014, two years after her dad’s death. She reported all her abusers to police, including Watt and another living lawyer.Disclosure examines Watt’s connection to a scandal that shocked Scotland more than 30 years ago. The Scottish media called it the Magic Circle Affair, with senior legal and establishment figures involved in child abuse and other criminal activities.
