The litigation stems from two incidents that caused Mount Carmel to cut short its 2020 season.

WILLIAMSPORT – A victim of hazing by Mount Carmel Area High School football players in 2020 has filed a federal lawsuit “to redress a hostile educational environment.” Michael Reed claims in the suit filed Wednesday in U.S. Middle District Court he was subjected to physical and/or sexual harassment in violation of the civil rights law known as Title IX.

Named as defendants are the Mount Carmel Area School District and former players Reed H. Witkoski, Damon D. Dowkus, Tyler R. Owens and Michael R. Balichik. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
