, was reported missing Jan. 28 and his family spent days searching for him. Police found his body Monday and charged an acquaintance, Miguel A. Perez, 21, of Bridgeton, in the killing.
About 200 people turned out Saturday in Bridgeton for a candlelight vigil to honor the young man known as “Jon Jon.”His mother, Stephanie Pernell, recently recalled her son as a smart, hard-working man.Perez allegedly shot Morris in the victim’s car in Bridgeton in the early hours of Jan. 28, then dumped his body in neighboring Hopewell Township. The car was found later that day on Archie Platt Road in Hopewell.
