He threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend in a string of chilling messages and voicemails
Fethi Chebbi, 38, bombarded his former girlfriend with abusive texts and voicemails after he found out she had entered a new relationship. Between January 18 and January 22 this year, he called her more than 100 times, telling her: "I'm going to slice you up", "I'm going to chop your head off", and "I'm going to put you in a grave alongside your nan".
In another message, he said: "Motherf***ing b****... I know you have been with him yesterday and I swear to God I will make your life miserable as f***, you little motherf*****."Prosecutor Michael Stevenson said: " has a support system around her which she is grateful for but there are times which she has struggled, particularly in relation to her children. She remains constantly worried that he'll turn up at her home address and cause problems for her and her children.
Robert McMaster, defending, said: "The bulk of the messages happened over two days. In these two days, it's conceded the complainant was bombarded with very unpleasant messages that caused her some distress, But this isn't a cause of a length and persistent harassment over weeks, months, years. It's a short period over two days."
Judge Andrew Menary said: "These are serious matters relating to your former partner. You and Ms Hughes had been in a relationship for about a year, but that relationship had come to an end because of your conduct towards her. After it came to an end, it seemed you were unwilling to recognise the relationship was over. Ultimately she formed a new relationship and that plainly caused issues as far as you were concerned.
