A pub that closed down earlier this year is set to reopen after a "significant" investment. The Lambley has been taken over by the Nottinghamshire-based Secret Pub Company, which has an outstanding track record when it comes to breathing new life into closed down locals.
All three pubs are family-friendly and renown for the gastro style menus and attractive beer gardens. Now the duo hope to sprinkle a touch of their magic on The Lambley, which despite the takeover will not be getting a name change.Both inside and out will be getting a revamp, with work beginning on Wednesday, May 10. But it won't be on the scale of some of their other ventures, which were closed for several years.
"I think it's had quite a bit of interest from what we can gather so we're really chuffed to get it. It's that village location, which is key to all of them. We have a tick box exercise - they must have a car park, must be able to do a certain amount of covers, the kitchen has got to be right. The village has got to be right,. We couldn't have picked a better village. I think it's a great village.
The kitchen will be ripped out and equipped with brand new appliances. However, other than that nothing structurally will be changing inside. The new look will include a different colour scheme, with new paintwork, upholstery and fabrics. Outside will also be getting a makeover to bring it up to scratch ready for the summer.
