SAN DIEGO — America’s Finest City has had a record-breaking year with visitors generating more than $14 billion inThe San Diego Tourism Authority announced tourists brought in $14.28 billion in visitor spending in 2023, an increase of $1 billion compared to 2022. Tourism had a $23.48 billion total economic impact on San Diego County.

The city is also home to some of Southern California’s largest conventions and events, from San Diego Comic-Con to San Diego Pride. San Diego County’s newest venue, Snapdragon Stadium has hosted music’s biggest concerts and the world’s biggest sporting events this year. The San Diego Tourism Authority is set to hold its annual meeting on Thursday and shared the record-breaking numbers with CBS 8.

San Diego was honored with multiple recognitions in 2023. Conde Nast Traveler’s annual Reader’s Choice Awards ranked San Diego #2 best city in the United States.
