Despite Slotkin and Kildee's decision to remain in D.C. for official duties, Gustavo Portela, the deputy chief of staff and communications director for the Michigan GOP, insisted it's"no secret" as to why the two representatives decided not to appear alongside"It’s no secret why out of touch Democrats Dan Kildee and Elissa Slotkin aren’t spending the day with Joe Biden," Portela said.
