Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus insisted that Republicans’ treatment of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is more unreasonable than Democrats’ past treatment of Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Supreme Court nominee for giving out lenient sentences to sex offenders and child predators."Judge Jackson has a pattern of letting child porn offenders off the hook for their appalling crimes, both as a judge and as a policymaker," Hawley tweeted."She’s been advocating for it since law school. This goes beyond ‘soft on crime.’ I’m concerned that this a record that endangers our children."Marcus was one of those progressives slamming Hawley.
"Hawley’s attack is part of a broader Republican barrage seeking to portray Jackson as soft on crime and supportive of terrorists . Such representation, of course, is in the finest tradition of American lawyering; its necessity is enshrined in the Constitution," Marcus wrote."But now we are reduced to this kind of smarm from the Republican National Committee, recycling Hawley."
