A woman was tricked out of hundreds of pounds when using a cash machine in Eccles. At about 2pm on August 5th the victim used an ATM machine in Church Street in the town centre when a conman struck.
The male pressed £500, took the cash when dispensed and walked away with it. The suspect is black, of average height, large build, and in his later 20s.Greater Manchester Police advise cash machine users to scan the area around ATMs before you using them, be aware of anyone standing close by, and always check the machine to see if it’s been tampered with before you use it.
A GMP spokesperson said:: "Remember, if it doesn’t look or feel right then steer clear and, if possible, go inside the bank where it will be safer. And always keep a regular check on your transactions.
