Return flights cost £492 and hotel rooms start at £10 a night, but the UK government has issued warnings
The stunning island that Brits are rushing to, known as the 'new Magaluf', has a darker side despite its appeal. Travel agents say that British holidaymakers are flocking to Zanzibar, Tanzania, off the East African coast.
However, even though it's been called the latest party place where return flights can be had from just £492 and hotel rooms shared by two for as little as £10 a night on Booking.com, the UK government has issued warnings for visitors on the official Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office website.
"Extremists linked to the Islamic terrorist group Al-Shabaab based in Somalia pose a threat across the East Africa region, and are thought to be active in Tanzania. Attacks by IS-Mozambique, who are based in the Cabo Delgado province of Mozambique, are possible near Tanzania's border with this area of Mozambique."
They've also advised caution regarding violent crime: "There is a risk of armed crime, including armed robbery, throughout Tanzania. Take particular care in places frequented by tourists and foreign residents."
