There could be an on-the-spot penalty
Many people love celebrate Bonfire Night by hosting a night-time party and setting off fireworks themselves. However, people can face big fines if they’re used illegally.
F1 fireworks are considered indoor fireworks and can be bought by anyone over the age of 16 - this includes sparklers and party poppers. Fireworks in the F2 and F3 categories are intended for garden and display use respectively, and can only be bought by people over 18. These curfews also apply to professionally fired shows. In Scotland you must not let fireworks off before 6pm either.
