DALLAS — Andre Iguodala’s playing career that has spanned 19 seasons, including his eight with the Warriors, might be coming to an end.
Iguodala, 39, underwent surgery Monday to repair a broken left wrist, the team announced Tuesday night. He’ll be reevaluated in four weeks, effectively ruling him out for the Warriors’ final nine regular season games. The earliest Iguodala could return is the first round of the NBA playoffs, though Golden State, currently sixth in the Western Conference, would have to make it there first.
Iguodala, who’s won four NBA titles with Golden State, hurt his wrist after falling on it March 13 during the third quarter of the Warriors’ win over the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center. Iguodala crashed onto the court after he got fouled on a driving layup. He made the free throw but was seen holding his left wrist later.
Iguodala, who played 2:11 in the fourth, was seen icing his hand in the locker room after the game. The team later announced he would need surgery after further testing showed he suffered a fracture.
