Gary Payton II is slated to participate in a full-team practice this weekend and could be cleared to play as soon as Sunday, the Warriors announced Thursday afternoon.
Payton, who hasn’t played since Feb. 8, has been ramping up his on-court activities in recent weeks. He joined the team on its recent five-city road trip and was spotted doing individual strength and conditioning work. Payton will practice Saturday without restrictions, the team said. Depending on how Payton’s body responds to the workout Saturday, he could be good to go for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
