Sunday, 34 days later, he was on the field at MetLife Stadium throwing again the Jets’ Week 6 game against the Eagles, fueling hope he might be able to make a miraculous return this season.And this wasn’t just a few gimpy throws, like the toss we saw him make two weeks ago here before the Jets played the Chiefs.
Rodgers was stepping into the throws with his uninjured back foot, and planting on his injured front foot with every toss. A few minutes later Rodgers briefly threw again to a staff member. Aaron Rodgers out here throwing 34 days after rupturing his Achilles and 32 days after surgery to repair it. As you can see he’s planting on his front foot and not just a few throws. He threw for about five minutes.Rodgers also noted that injury return timelines are “meaningless” other than to keep his mindset positive, but has repeatedly said since that his timeline is unlike any other previous return from an Achilles injury.
That call all wait. For now, it’s just flat-out impressive to see Rodgers back on the field where he was injured less than five weeks ago, 32 days after he had surgery to repair his torn Achilles.
