WATCH LIVE 2PM EDT: House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight holds hearing with inspector general of Capitol Police
Inspector General Ron Russo will speak before the committee on Capitol Hill, weeks after his internal review of the department's hiring processes found that 48% of Capitol Police applicants had been failed by a screening company on preemployment psychological evaluations. The national average is 16%.
HUNTER BIDEN INVESTIGATION: THREE THINGS TO EXPECT FROM BOMBSHELL IRS WHISTLEBLOWER TESTIMONY WEDNESDAY The review, which concluded in May, came after House Administration Committee ranking member Joseph Morelle raised concerns about Global Consortium LLC, the screening firm. Russo began his review shortly after assuming the position in January.
After Russo's conclusions were considered"wide-ranging and deeply troubling" by Morelle and others, Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger ended the screening company's contract.Several other high-profile hearings are happening on Capitol Hill on Wednesday. The House Oversight Committee will hear from two IRS agents on the alleged politicization of the Hunter Biden investigation.
