Head coach Valerien Ismael heralded the patience of the Watford fans after two stoppage-time goals saw them beat Birmingham.
Head coach Valerien Ismael heralded the patience of the Watford fans as being a contributory factor in yesterday’s late, late show victory over Birmingham.
“When you are in a process as we are, they can feel something is happening on the pitch, but I know that at other places when it’s 0-0 with 10 minutes to play and the ball is not around the box then whistling starts. There will be impatience around the crowd.“I’m just pleased that everyone got the reward today for that patience.“When it’s not happening it’s very helpful from our fans to stay patient with the players.
“At half time I said to the guys we needed to step up and we needed to force the game. We knew that the bench would have an impact. We were aware of that, we would need everyone. Ismael admitted he felt it was about time his team, and their supporters, were able to celebrate getting the result their performance deserved.

Lewis in line to make Watford debutJamal Lewis is in line to make his first appearance for Watford after his summer transfer from Newcastle United. The left-back has been injured since signing for the Championship club on a season-long loan in July.“He’s fit, he trained well for the two weeks with consistency, we are pleased that he will be available,” said head coach Valerien Ismael.“It’s important he stays healthy, he has the training rhythm now, now he needs the game rhythm. Technically, physically he brings everything we need for the position. He has exactly the profile we need, that’s why we picked him.”Ahead of the game against Birmingham at Vicarage Road on Saturday, Watford will assess the fitness of Ken Sema, who has filled in at left-back recently, after returning from international duty with Sweden with some muscle fatigue.
