There are great parks everywhere and plenty of reasons to enjoy each of them!
Visitors to Woodlawn Lake lauded the park for its stunning waterfront trail, the playground and other amenities., the oldest park in Texas and the second oldest in the United States, scored 4.4 stars. Visitors complained of homeless people living at the park and a general feeling of being unsafe.
Friedrich Wilderness Park, which offers about 600 acres of park land and 10 miles of hiking trails at the southern edge of Texas Hill Country, was praised in Google reviews for its well-marked trails, beauty and proximity to the city. In addition to over 6 miles of paved and unpaved trails, the park has a reconstructed observation tower that offers a stunning view of the downtown San Antonio skyline. The park also has barbecue and picnic facilities.

Although future funding of local creek ways is uncertain, the city hopes by this summer to complete a 1.8-mile linkage near Eisenhower Park and The Rim that would connect the Leon Creek and Salado Creek greenways, providing more than 40 miles of continuous paved hike-and-bike trails in San Antonio.
