National Weather Service officials issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook Friday cautioning of excessive cold temperatures, gusty conditions and blowing snow drifts for portions of north central and northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.
Officials said a period of wind whipped snow was expected Friday morning and early afternoon which could decrease visibility and create minor accumulations of up to an inch.
Southerly winds were expected to gust 30 to 40 mph causing blowing snow. Also frigid temperatures were expected to remain in the area until late next week, officials said.AdvertisementAdvertisement
