WestJet Group CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech made a rare visit to Regina for a business roundtable with community leaders to gather input for what he calls an “ambitious growth strategy for Western Canada.”
“Therefore we decided that we’d take the Sunwing airline and integrate it into the WestJet airline, and this would drive a lot of additional resiliency into the system.” “We’ve really been encouraging WestJet to help us recover and to put lots of seats into our market and they’ve really responded positively.”“Sixty per cent of our total capacity is with that airline and this is not even including the Sunwing Airline they recently acquired, with the big focus being their global hub in Calgary,” he said.
