CLEVELAND, Ohio - Westlake senior Amara Brahmbhatt finished runner-up Saturday in Division I singles at the OHSAA girl tennis state tournament.
Brahmbhatt fell in three sets — 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 — to North Canton Hoover senior Tess Bucher, who also topped Brahmbhatt in their district final. Brahmbhatt had given up just one set on her way to the final . Avon senior Natalie Smitek finished third with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Cincinnati Turpin’s Sarah Clark in the third-place match. Smitek lost to Bucher in the semifinals, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
