The convention speech provides former Vice President Joe Biden his best opportunity to talk one-on-one with the American people, show his heart, counter his critics, and paint a contrast to President Trump. Right now we are a nation that does not ensure equal rights for Black and brown families. We are a nation that does not secure equality for women. We are a nation failing to protect one another from a virus running rampant. We are a nation that promotes autocrats over allies. We are a nation in which the intelligence and judicial systems that were set up as shields for Americans are now shielding a select few from the law.
We are better than that. One person, one party is not to blame for tearing us apart. We all play a role – and each of us can sow a solution.
