“Be open-minded and use this as an opportunity to reevaluate what is important to you—professionally and personally,” Roehm recommends. That might include figuring out what you value in a new job: work-life balance, the ability to work remotely, family leave, or professional development opportunities, for example. For Roehm, it meant prioritizing her family over her career. “Funnily enough, when I put family first, my career flourished,” she says.
