San Antonio-based burger chain Whataburger is expanding in Florida with 15 more restaurants planned in the Jacksonville area through franchise and corporate additions.
Whataburger is pushing deeper into the Sunshine State with plans to more than double its restaurant count in north Florida.locations in the Jacksonville area, with the first two slated to open at 8325 Southside Blvd. in Jacksonville and 105 Cbl Drive in St. Augustine by the end of 2027.Whataburger lays off employees from San Antonio headquarters; requires staff to return to office
“This collaboration has been many years in the making, and we’re thrilled to expand this iconic brand’s presence across northeast Florida,"With those additions, there will be 24 Whataburger restaurants in the Jacksonville area. Whataburger’s expansion has accelerated since Chicago-based investment firm BDT Capital Partners bought a majority stake in the company in 2019.
