Hospitals in England are set to face a “double whammy” of strikes in July as consultants will join junior doctors in taking industrial action after voting heavily in favour in a dispute over pay.have backed industrial action by 86 per cent on a turnout of 71 per cent, well above the legal threshold of 50 per cent.
The BMA said that unless the Government makes a “credible offer” which can be put to its members, consultants will be taking part in industrial action for a 48-hour period, between 20 July and 21 July.
