The village is anything but ordinary, as Reverand Jack discovers
But, you guessed it, life will be anything but peaceful for her.The series is based on British author CJ Tudor’s 2021 best-selling novel of the same name which was inspired by real-life events.
We follow Jack, an unconventional vicar who has relocated to Chapel Croft, a close-knit English country village, with her teenage daughter Flo. Jack hopes to put the past behind her as she establishes herself in the new community. But just as her own secrets are hard to escape she realises the village has its own unhappy past.
Chapel Croft is rife with superstition, and conspiracies. As an outsider, Jack has her work cut out to win over the villagers.More chilling still, is the spectre of two young girls who were burnt at the stake in the 16th century and who are said to haunt the chapel.This quaint, picturesque village has a dark and devastating history.
Reverend Jack starts to dig around and discovers several people have vanished from the village never to be seen again. She is determined to find out what happened.The main location for filming was the village of Stokenchurch in the south-west area of the county.Television
