A distillery in Scotland is giving away bottles of its whisky to customers who donate their time by spending a day volunteering carrying out important environmental work.

A Scottish distillery is allowing customers to 'pay' for a bottle of whisky with time instead of money as part of a new environmental initiative.

To be in with a chance of getting their hands on the Glengoyne 15-Year-Old, customers need to pledge one volunteering day on the Glengoyne website. Those selected to take part will be invited to one of the WWT’s UK sites, after which they will receive a bottle of whisky as well as a personal invite to visit Glengoyne for an in-depth tour.

Glengoyne was the first Scottish distillery to adopt a wetlands facility for 100 per cent of its liquid waste back in 2011. This helped the distillery reduce waste by 25 per cent and now provides a home to 14,500 plants and abundant wildlife, fostering biodiversity and encouraging wildlife in the local area.

"So, by donating just one day of your time to WWT, whisky fans will be able to help protect carbon capturing wetlands, aid the conservation of migratory Geese, and take home a bottle of this excellent new dram!”
