When NJ Advance Media asked about the escalator to nowhere, Jessica Griffin, spokeswoman for American Dream, would not comment on the movie theater notion. However, she did address the destination-less escalator and stairs headed to an unopened fourth floor.“We expect to announce new entertainment uses shortly,” she continued, “as American Dream continues to deliver on its promise to create a world-class entertainment, retail and dining destination.
The former CMX Cinemas in Closter, seen here in March 2022, had a change in ownership, and the CMX theater planned for American Dream never happened.
