Video-sharing platform Rumble has defended Mr Brand's right to make money from content while he faces sexual abuse allegations
Rumble is an online video platform, web hosting and cloud services business. it was founded in 2013 by Chris Pavlovski, a Canadian technology entrepreneur.
Chris Pavlovski is the founder and chief executive officer of Rumble. It received investment from venture capitalists Peter Thiel and J D Vance in May 2021. Former Fox News presenter Dan Bongino is also a financial backer of the platform.On it’s website, the firm describes itself as a place “for people with something to say and something to share, who believe in authentic expression, and want to control the value of their own creations.
It states it “creates technologies that are immune to cancel culture” and is “on a mission to protect a free and open internet”. The UK’s Culture, Media and Sport Committee chair Dame Caroline Dinenage asked the site this week for information on whether Mr Brand could continue to profit from content on the site in the wake of recent allegations.
Rumble responded: “We regard it as deeply inappropriate and dangerous that the UK Parliament would attempt to control who is allowed to speak on our platform or to earn a living from doing so.Russell Brand has regularly posted video content to YouTube and Rumble on the site with an estimated 1.4 million followers.
