Many entrepreneurs skip or quit college to focus on their startup. The career paths of successful entrepreneurs like Bill Gates, Michael Dell, and Mark Zuckerberg suggest that education, knowledge, and experience are somehow unnecessary. Even worse, it may prevent success.
However, recent research indicates that older entrepreneurs are more likely to achieve higher levels of success than younger entrepreneurs , suggesting that some sort of knowledge/skill may be an advantage when trying to build, develop, and grow a start-up.That is why it is interesting when you find young entrepreneurs who obtained not only their undergraduate, but also graduate degrees—and essentially decided to become highly educated before starting a company.

There are tons of successful companies that have started this way and I definitely don’t believe that having an MBA is a prerequisite for success. For me there are three main reasons why I decided to get an MBA and start while at grad school.
: There’s a good chance that you’re going to be distracted by the high-paying careers that are possible coming out of business school – you may even feel an internal struggle when you see fellow students attending networking events, prepping for interviews, or accepting internship offers, but if you’re serious about your venture, stick to your guns and try not to get distracted by what the majority of your class may be doing.
