From the purple wedding dress to the skull-shaped candles, Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese’s unconventional ceremony made tradition look like a snore.
that have personal significance to our editors.Back in 2006, rocker Marilyn Manson married burlesque queen Dita Von Teese in an unconventional ceremony, all of which was captured in the pages ofMarch issue. To this day, it’s still one of my favorite shoots to ever appear in the magazine. With its lavish fashions and grand settings, both complete with loads of gothic charm, this offbeat—and very unholy!—wedding makes traditional ceremonies look like a snore.
Then, for the rehearsal dinner and the formal ceremony, the couple invited 60-something guests to travel to Ireland, where all of the action was photographed by Robert Fairer. Their rehearsal dinner was held at the Kilshane House, a historical home in the middle of a private parkland. Von Teese wore a striking Kelly-green Moschino satin gown for the affair, complete with vintage rubies. But it was their formal wedding ceremony that has long been seared into my brain.

#BigLipstickEnergy: Why Right Now Is the Best Time to Try a Lip OilTHE DETAILS:
What makes a lip oil different from a lip gloss is the texture and the ingredients. This oil, made of jojoba, hazel, and sunflower seed oils, has a sheer tint and a lightweight glossy texture that will lock your lips in all-day moisture. The color is buildable so the more swipes, the bolder, the fewer swipes, the more toned-down the shade looks. Its completely clean formula, which is free of harsh chemicals, tastes like raspberry sugar cookies. You won't be mad at it.
WHY I'M OBSESSED:
The best way to describe the texture is if lip gloss and lip balm had a baby. It's glossy, but not sticky, and balmy, but not translucent. I love the lip-bitten cherry effect this tint leaves behind. After an hour, the texture sinks into my skin and the moisture-rich feeling withstands many cups of matcha and smoothies, which I appreciate. If you want a subtle shade with hydrating benefits of a balm, this is the one for you. •••For more stories like this, including celebrity news, beauty and fashion advice, savvy political commentary, and fascinating features, sign up for the Marie Claire newsletter.subscribe here
