Wiltshire's police commissioner expects the force to be taken out of special measures by March 2024.
By Dan O'BrienThe police commissioner for a force heavily criticised after a series of failures has said he expects it to be out of special measures next year.PCC Philip Wilkinson said the force had now made significant improvements in a number of areas.He made the remarks in a wide ranging interview with BBC Radio Wiltshire during which he also revealed future plans for Salisbury's long awaited police station are due to be announced within the next two weeks.
Mr Wilkinson said the force had made significant improvements in investigating sexual offences, in tacking serious crime, speeding, rural crime and governance of the force. But he added: "We've got one area which is proving tough to fix, our response to the public through the control room and communications centre".
