GAME STORY | Things have officially become unsettling for the playoff-bound Avalanche.
Colorado lost its fourth straight game Sunday, blowing a 1-0 third-period lead by allowing three goals in a stretch of 3:21 and falling to the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 at Canada Life Centre.
The Avalanche finished 0-3 on its disastrous trip that began in Seattle and went through Edmonton. It was outscored a combined 13-6 and finished 0-of-10 on the power play. “We didn’t have a whole lot of jump and I just don’t think that the effort was there,” Avs forward J.T. Compher said after Sunday’s loss. “Guys are trying but overall we have to be much better than that as a group. That’s not good enough.”
Goalie Darcy Kuemper was working on a shutout through two periods on Sunday but allowed four goals on 21 shots in the third when Colorado was thoroughly outplayed.
