Woman dies after being found shot at Sunbury Road shopping plaza in Blendon Township
A woman died Tuesday after she was discovered shot in the parking lot of a shopping plaza in Blendon Township near Westerville.
Around 5:50 p.m., Blendon Township police were called to Sunbury Plaza, a shopping plaza on South Sunbury Road anchored by a Kroger's grocery and located just north of Dublin Granville Road/ Route 161. Police found a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head, according to police dispatchers.
Medics transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Her identity will not be released pending notification of family.Blendon Township police could not be reached for comment. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal investigations was on scene for assistance with evidence collection, a spokesperson said.
